Our Story

Established in 2011

More than 60 years ago, while going to bed hungry, a little boy promised his mother that he would open a food pantry to help people eat.  In 2011 Jim Linker made good on his promise and founded the New Hope Food Pantry.

In 2024, the New Hope Food Pantry served over 42,000 individuals.  In 2025 we completed an 800 square foot cooler in order to distribute a greater quantity and quality of fresh foods and protein.

This is our story, but what we really care about are the stories of those who visit our pantry.  We've provided food to starving shut-ins, hungry kids, over-burdened single moms, fathers between jobs, seniors with oppressive medical debt, and abandoned spouses as they work to get back on their feet.

You can join the story!  We can't exist but for our pantry friends.  We have faithful volunteers and donors.  We need pantry friends who believe in our ministry enough to read our updates, pray for our needs, and faithfully give so that we can feed those in need.

Donate Food or Funds

Our donors provide food and cash to keep our pantry open!  USDA slashed 500 million dollars of funding for US food banks and pantries in 2025.  We recognize this as an opportunity to build a local support base for a local pantry.

I work sending food out on Wednesdays and it is an absolute joy to see the relief and gratitude on people's faces when they receive food.  But there is more than the clients.  The spirit of the pantry is to find a place for anyone who wants to serve.  We also provide an outlet for handicap and disabled persons who want to help.  It is an amazing opportunity to serve!

I had a double lung transplant in 2022.  I would not be alive but for the generosity and support of the New Hope Food Pantry.  I'm so grateful for the pantry's work!  It meets so many needs and I love being a part of the ministry!

God has used the food pantry a lot, with all of the donations!  Also with those who volunteer.  So many are kind, generous, and really want to help people.  God uses the pantry to help both the those who come and our volunteers.

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, 'you shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.'
